Dr. Philip Schatz is a neuropsychologist with research interests in the areas of outcome following traumatic brain injury, assessing and monitoring the effects of concussion in youth and collegiate athletes, and computer-based assessment.

Dr. Schatz received his BS in psychology from Penn State University (1986) and his MS and PhD in Neuropsychology from Drexel University (1995). He completed his pre-doctoral internship at The Toronto Hospital in Canada, and joined the SJU faculty in 1998, where he was tenured in 2004 and promoted to the rank of Associate Professor in 2005.

A technophile, Dr. Schatz has served as webmaster for the Psychology Department and other organizations. He is director of the IT Committee for the National Academy of Neuropsychology, and recently served on the Board of the Philadelphia Neuropsychology Society. He is also Chair of the Saint Joseph's University Institutional Review Board for the Protection of Human Subjects in Research.
