In addition to completing the GER requirement, freshman psychology students entering into the psychology major are required to complete the following requirements:
- 6 "Core" courses: (Introductory Psychology Freshman Seminar I & II, Statistics, Research Methods, Multicultural Psychology, and History and Systems)
- 1 Advanced Laboratory course (choosing from: Sensation and Perception, Cognition, Learning and Memory, Clinical Psychology, Environmental Psychology, Social Psychology)
- 1 Research Seminar (choosing from: Social Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Neuroscience, Development, Sensation and Perception, Neuropsychology, Learning and Memory, Health Psychology, Psychology of Gender)
- 1 "Experiential" course (choosing from: Internship, Independent Study, Honors Independent Study, Directed Readings, Honors Directed Readings, Independent Research, Honors Independent Research, Service/Learning, Study Abroad/Tour)
- 5 Psychology Elective courses
(Students entering into the program after their first semester will take only 1 semester of Introductory Psychology and will complete 6 Psychology electives.)
